Islam: Reform and Revival Gould, Mark; Sadri, Mahmoud; Surūsh, ʻAbd al-Karīm; Mirsepassi, Ali; Kadīvar, Muḥsin On December 8, 2011, a distinguished group of scholars gathered at Haverford College in the Multicultural Center for a daylong symposium that explored broad questions about the history and future of Islam. Organized by Professor of Sociology Mark Gould, "Islam: Reform and Revival" featured four speakers including Ali Mirsepassi, Professor of Middle Eastern Studies and Sociology at New York Univeristy, Mohsen Kadivar, Iranian theologian and jurist and Visiting Professor of Religion at Duke University, Mahmoud Sadri, Professor of Sociology at Texas Women's University, and Abdolkarim Soroush, Visiting Professor of Religion at Haverford College.
